Who we are
Our website address is: https://www.burleyfudge.co.uk.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
We collect information about you for two reasons; to process your order and to provide the best possible service. Data that we collect includes:
- delivery address
- email address
- company name (optional)
- telephone number
- order notes
When you visit our site, we’ll track the products you’ve viewed, location, IP address and browser type in order to provide a better, more personal service to you.
We generally store information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it.
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If visitors fill in and send the contact form, we collect the data that you submit including name, email and message. This information and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
Some cookies used on this website are essential in order to enable you to move around the website and use its features, such as accessing secure areas of the website. Without these cookies, services you have asked for, like the shopping basket, cannot be provided.
Some cookies used on this website collect information about how visitors use a website, for instance which pages visitors go to most often, and if they get error messages from web pages. These cookies don’t collect information that identifies a visitor. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. It is only used to improve how a website works.
Please note that some cookies may be placed by third party service providers who perform some of these functions (or other services) for us. Cookies are used on this website for the following third party services: Google Analytics, Zendesk Chat. Some of these services may be used to track your behaviour on other websites and we have no control over this.
By continuing to use this website without adjusting your browser’s cookie settings, you agree that we can place these cookies on your device.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. area guides, videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
Who we share your data with
Relevant information will be passed on to PayPal to process your payment and the Royal Mail to deliver your order. If you sign up to our newsletter, we use MailChimp to send our emails. We never sell or share customer details with any other companies.
Members of our team have access to the information you provide us, administrators and managers can see the information about what was purchased, when it was purchased and where it should be sent, as well as customer information used to complete the order.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
